Ownership of content
Unless otherwise stated, all original content published on the Earth & Ink website, including articles, photographs, videos, graphics, designs, logos, maps and other creative materials, is owned by Earth & Ink and is protected by applicable copyright law in Guyana, including the Copyright Act 1956 (Cap. 74) as applied to Guyana.
- Intellectual property: Earth & Ink retains copyright and related intellectual property rights in its original editorial content, cartography, visualisations and any proprietary datasets it produces or commissions, except where third-party ownership or licensing is explicitly indicated.
- Data sovereignty and traditional knowledge: where local communities and Indigenous peoples contribute traditional ecological knowledge or culturally sensitive information, Earth & Ink will apply consent-based sharing, appropriate attribution and, where requested, access controls or limitations to respect community rights and expectations.
- Transparency: where Earth & Ink publishes AI-assisted summaries, automated map features or derived indicators, it will provide clear method notes (data sources, processing approach and key limitations) to support public understanding and verification.
Permitted use
Visitors are encouraged to access and share Earth & Ink content for professional, personal or educational purposes, provided that proper credit is given to Earth & Ink as the source, and the material is not altered, sold or republished without written permission. Attribution must include an active link back to the website.
Content sharing policy
Earth & Ink welcomes collaboration and information sharing. Media houses or educational institutions wishing to republish articles must request written approval via admin@earthandink.gy.
